This course will cover all aspects of Safety in Design beginning with hazard identification, including recognized hazards and “hidden” hazards. Hazards that arise from operator error, wear and tear, installation and lack of maintenance will be included. Next, various risk assessment models that are used to assess the risk will be presented. Finally, the hierarchy of controls will be presented and discussed. Many examples and case studies from general industry and construction will be included to illustrate how Safety in Design can be used in real world scenarios.

This standard establishes criteria for safety, health, and environmental training programs, including development, delivery, evaluation and program management.
The purpose of this standard is to provide accepted practices for safety, health, and environmental training. This standard is recommended for voluntary application by providers of safety, health, and environmental training, and it is intended to apply to a broad range of training and training programs.
